Pleading the 5th!

I have recently been having conversations with Loren that shock me. She sounds like such a big girl. I started thinking about it and realized that when Miranda was her age, actually even before that, I talked to her like she was a little adult. For some strange reason, I still treat Loren like she is a baby. Maybe because she is my baby. My mother said she did the same thing with my little sister. It's just what parents sometimes do, unintentionally. I am amazed at how differently I treat them. I'm glad I realized this though, I am positive that some of the behavioral problems I've been having with Loren are probably because I treat her like a baby and not like the big girl she is. I am creating my own monster! lol...time for a change for sure!

On another note, dontcha just love being able to make your kids believe you see and know all! I mean seriously I don't know how many times my kids ask, "How did you know?!" And I say nonchalantly, "I'm a mom, mothers know EVERYTHING!" I have also convinced them that I have cameras in the house and can playback the video at any time to see if they are lying to me, this has worked so well with Loren, who is known for telling tales! Today she tripped her sister in the hallway and said it was an accident. Miranda had a small boo-boo with blood and was being dramatic.

The argument started, "She pushed me on purpose!"

Loren, "No I didn't, it was an accident!" And so it went on.

I calmly said, "Okay, let's check the video to see what really happened." And as I pulled out a random DVD and pushed play I turned around to see Loren hiding behind Miranda.

"Loren, why do you look so guilty?"

Loren, "I'm not, I just don't want to watch it."

I said, "Well, if I watch this and see that you were lying, you will get a spanking."

Then she quickly admitted that she did it on purpose.

Miranda said, "Why did you say you didn't mean to then?"

Loren, "Because I didn't mean to make you bleed."

Then Miranda asked me, "What was on that DVD mommy?"

I simply replied, "That's the video from the hallway, I have cameras all over the house...I can see anything you girls are doing...at any time!" =)

Oh, I dread when they become teenagers and realize I'm full of crap! haha!

For the Love of Monkeys!!! =)

The girls' dad is getting married in two weeks, which happens to be on my weekend. Not a problem, we did some rearranging to accommodate this problem, and now I get Miranda on her birthday weekend :) BUT I didn't realize that it would switch us up to where I did not have my girls on Mother's Day! :( I tried to be a big girl about it. I see my girls every day and they'd be home in time for dinner. See...their dad scheduled Miranda's party for Saturday of Mother's day weekend, unfortunately his sister-in-law also scheduled his fiance's wedding shower at the same time without consulting him, so he had to move Miranda's party to MOTHER'S DAY! Again, I thought, no big deal, I see them every day and Miranda will have so much fun having a party and I will at least be getting her for her birthday weekend! I was completely fine with it all...that is until Mother's day finally came. I don't know what happened, I woke up fine, was a bit sad about going to church without them, especially when everyone started asking what I was doing for Mother's day. We all came back here for lunch with my mother to celebrate and then my sis and I took her for a pedicure. Very fun spending time together. Then I came home and it hit me even harder. They finally got home at 5pm, and I will say, NEVER AGAIN! lol...I just was not prepared for how weird it was going to feel not celebrating with my girls. It may seem silly to some, but it really is something I will never allow again. Oh well, at least I have her birthday weekend coming up! :)

Now on to the important stuff, haha. The girls, with the help of their Homma, secretly got me a framed picture of them from their Easter pics I took (the one above). LOVE IT!!!!! I have it sitting on my dresser in my room. (My walls are too low to hang stuff on, lol)

Miranda also made me a Mother's Day card at school. She wrote, My mom deserves a special day because she loves me and I love her and she protects me, I like my mom.

My mommy looks pretty when she goes out and on Halloween she dressed up like Katie Perry and she was "butful." haha, of the misspellings, this was my favorite. ;)

My mommy looks funny when she scares me. I laugh and laugh until I pass out or can't breathe.

And then there was a poem at the end. Too sweet!

Below is a drawing she did of me and her.

Loren made me a key chain that reads MOM...I forgot to take a picture though! I love my sweet girls and am so very grateful to God that He blessed me with those sweet little angels! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day too!

Good Times with Great Friends :)

We randomly meet up for a play dates at McDonald's with our friend Janessa and her daughter Brooklyn, and our friend Lora and her girls, Kate and Alex. The girls LOVE this time! They have a really great playground and of course it gives us mom's time to catch up on everything! The crazy monkeys wanted some ice cream! Is it just me or does it look like the sugar rush is setting in?!

Family Fun on Easter Sunday

This was when I knew it was naptime! haha!

All because sissy got ONE more egg than her!

YUM!

Very excited!

Below: Loren, my brother, Jonathan, my sis, Janie, me and Miranda.

We had a really great Easter. Lots of egg hunts with the girls. I will say I am NEVER doing real Easter eggs again. The eggs would not dye. I fell asleep on the couch waiting on them and woke up at 2am, they still had not turned colors, and I had forgotten to put out the Easter baskets, thank goodness I woke up! I finally went to bed after putting them all in a tupperware dish. The next morning I realized I forgot to put them in the fridge, so they had a bit of a smell to them. We hid them a lot around the yard for the girls, who did fight over them a bit.

Afterward I made the girls throw the eggs into the sink.

A WEEK later...I found a bag full of eggs hidden in Loren's room! She wanted to keep them! OMG, the smell, the sliminess, I seriously am not usually sensitive, but I gagged! And declared we will ONLY do plastic eggs from here on out! haha! Lesson learned!
