Say What?!

Miranda had well over 10 "boyfriends" in kindergarten. My hope was this meant boys who are friends, lol...not quite so sure.

This past summer I reconnected with an old high school friend of mine, and she has a son who is about a year older than Miranda. These two kids hit it off right away!

She decided he was her "boyfriend" because he did things such as, get her coat for her when we were leaving and whatnot!

Oh how she goes on about him, and I must say, I am proud that she appreciates a gentleman, hopefully no "bad boys" in her future!

She said she only has ONE boyfriend this year, the boy talked about above, lol. Even though two boys in her class, and I am quoting, "Have their eyes on her!" Seriously now!

A couple weeks ago she drew a picture of her and this boy on their wedding day with 3 baby girls. I told his mom, who told me that he says Miranda is his girlfriend and they are going to have boys! Oh my goodness!

While at dinner last night, she informed aunt Nanie, "I am going to have 6 jobs when I grow up, (she listed them all) and my husband is going to stay home and take care of the kids!"

WOW! Really?!

I wonder what her future husband will have to say about that...LOL!

As for Loren...She has no desire to ever get married or have children! She wants absolutely nothing to do with it. Thank God...I can only handle one boy crazy child at a time!

Audrey Hepburn? Or Tomboy?

Loren and I were having breakfast after Miranda left for school and she had to wear my sunglasses because it was so bright!

I love this picture, she looks so elegant, almost a young Audrey Hepburn, my favorite actress of all time! ;)

And then...she went to put on her shoes for the day, and this is what she came back with!
My little Italian beauty has so much tomboy in her! Please, do NOT let the jewelry and dresses fool you. She has a lot of sassy rock star in her, but she is definitely a tomboy at heart!

I told her these shoes did not go, and to put some sandals on, but she said, "Momma, they go, they are purple (Poyrpel) like the dress and they have glitter and diamonds on them too!" So I guess in her mind, the shoes were as dressy as the dress. But still! Thank God we weren't going where anyone but family would see her fashion feaux pas. lol...that child!

I love it, even if she looks like a goober, because this is my Loren! :)

My Little Cuddle Bug!

Both my girls love to cuddle, which does make for a rough night if they are both in the bed with me, lol! But I don't mind a sore back now and again, as long as I can still cuddle my babies!

On this particular night I walked in to see Miranda cuddling aunt Nanie's baby, Emma.

If you look behind her though, there's Bella, her most favorite baby doll in the whole wide world, that she just can't sleep without! Yesterday Miranda had to take something special to her class for show and tell.
She chose to take Bella. This made me so happy for several reasons:
1. That my baby is not too big to take a baby doll for show and tell
and inform the entire class that she can't sleep without her favorite doll! :)
2. Because Bella came into her life when she was only 2 years old I believe.
My mother bought her the first one, and every time Bella has gotten too yucky or
too messed up, I have gone out and replaced her with a duplicate!
Thank God Walmart is good for certain things!
Bella has had several sisters added to the family, but she remains the only one that is cherished the way she is and for that...I LOVE that baby doll almost as much as she does! Because that means my baby is still my innocent little girl.
I truly think I will cry the day Miranda becomes too cool for Bella, I really do!

Last Trip to the Sprinkler Park...

It's been so hot here lately that sitting out in the sun, even with water nearby, was the last thing I was about to do!

So when I finally had a day off with cooler temps (I'm talking in the 90s people, how sad is that!) Loren and I grabbed our stuff and headed to the Collierville Sprinkler Park.

I was so sad when I saw the signs posted stating that they were only going to be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the rest of the month before they close for fall! :( That means this was definitely our last trip for the summer. And while I am VERY ready for some fall weather to cool things off, I'm just NOT ready for summer to end! NOT YET!

Loren and I had so much fun, I ran through all the sprinklers with her and could wring out my swimsuit cover up, not kidding! It was so worth it though.
After about an hour and a half, the sun finally warmed the temps back up and Loren was so tired. So she got me to give her a massage while she listened to my MP3 and chilled out. Ahhh...must be nice! ;)

2nd Grade! WOW!

I still can't get over the fact that my BABY...My first born...is now a 2nd grader! Seriously?!

I feel like just yesterday we started her kindergarten adventure!

My beautiful little girl was all dressed up for her first day..."I want to look really pretty for school, Mommy."

She was FULL of butterflies! The week before school started she was still NOT happy about starting back. Then we went back-to-school shopping. I let her pick out all her own outfits and she LOVED it, she is a little shopaholic, who knew!

Afterward, she said, "Mom, first I was not wanting to start back, and now I can't wait to start! It's like I'm at war with myself!" Too funny!

Miranda adores her teacher and says she goes to the best school, with the best teachers!

I am so very happy that she is excited about the school year and looks forward to each day!
Ah, makes me tear up every time I see this picture!

Mr. Bones

On a recent trip to the mall the girls discovered Mr. Bones...

He hangs out in the cosmetic department at Dillard's. :) The girls thought he was pretty cool and wanted their picture made with him.
On our way out we saw hats! So exciting, I know! haha! The girls and I love hats and are always ready to try some on to see how they look.

There are no pics of me, but I most certainly did NOT miss out on the fun! The one Miranda has on especially, I love!

Loren did a little hat change, of course!

The BIG Splinter!

Friday night, two weeks ago, the girls and I went to see The Smurfs! Super cute movie, loved it!

And of course the girls were SO excited, and this meant they got to stay up late! lol

Unfortunately after we got home Loren was going up to bed and got a HUGE splinter in the heel of her foot. Poor baby!

There is new wood being put in up there and she walked right across part that was sticking out and it slid right into her foot, deep!

My parents and I spent an hour and a half trying to get that splinter out! NO LUCK!

Lots of tears and pain for her though :( Let me say she was one brave girl though!
Finally, Sunday, I had to take her to the doctor to have it removed. It turned red, was swollen and I was terrified it was infected!
It took me and a male nurse to hold her down while another nurse removed it from her foot.
Scene: Me sitting on a gurney, Loren sitting in between my legs, my legs wrapped around her little body and my arms holding her arms, the male nurse was holding the bottom of her legs/feet down. While the female nurse held her foot and a HUGE needle in her hand, Loren screamed at the top of her lungs!
The male nurse was happy to leave after her two injections of anesthetic. He said she was extremely strong and had busted his ear drums, lol!
He had to come hold her down again though when the nurse pulled out a scalpel to remove the splinter. She had to cut her foot open to get to it, it was that deep! They finally removed it and doctored her all up. That splinter was 3/4 in. long. Wow! She did have a little puss and so they put her on an antibiotic and a cream for the wound. We are just so glad it's all over!

The pics above are of her resting after her big, traumatizing ordeal, lol! Sweet girl!

Rock Stars

Loren wants to be Katy Perry when she grows up...she came downstairs in this!

I got her to play for me for a second, but she mostly just wanted to "look" cool!
And Miranda is dressed in almost every single pair of jewelry she owns I believe!

I love my little Rock Stars! ;)

July Fourth Celebrations!

First my cousin Amanda and I took our girls downtown for the fireworks celebration.

We are both single moms, so it was nice having someone else to go with, especially when you each have two girls to handle.

First we met up at McDonald's and the girls were so wild I am positive everyone in the place cheered when we left, LOL! But that is what happens sometimes when you get four very hyper and excited cousins around the same age together.

After we got downtown we decided to stay on Tom Lee Park instead of going to Mud Island where everything was going on. This made things so much more peaceful and easy to manage and the girls had plenty of room to play and run around.

I can't believe how much these two look alike! Everyone says they think Loren looks just like her dad, but I think she looks like my mother's side of the family. And it's hard to argue with her next to her cousin, lol.

~Miranda~
We brought bug spray and lots of snacks, well, I thought we did, apparently these girls had the munchies, even after eating at Mickey D's.
We did have to take them into the Majestic Grill to use the restroom before we headed to the river. Even though they were closing, they let us in with our little ones, and were so very nice, I would love to try that place out sometime.

~Loren~

Waiting on the fireworks...

~Aubrey~

Seriously they are almost twins!

~Grace~

Her personality is so much like Miranda it's not even funny!

Homma, Becca, and aunt Traci

On Monday, the actual 4th, we went to my cousin Rebecca's house to celebrate Nanie's birthday.

My girls had lots of fun.

Amanda, Kadence, Becca

The girls were more excited about the pool than anything else!

Girls Nights Out!

The first weekend in July, I decided it was time for some alone time with Mommy for each of the girls. I have been working so much that I have not been able to spend as much time with them as I normally do during the summer and the time I am with them, they fight over me like crazy!

So...first I took Miranda to see a movie she was super excited about...Monte Carlo.

She just adores Selena Gomez and watches Wizards of Waverly place daily! Probably the most excited she gets over any show she watches.
She decided it was appropriate to dress up for this movie! How CUTE! She even put on a pink beaded necklace and jewelry along with a matching clutch! LOVE IT, she is a fashionista already!

The movie was great, poor thing ate way too much popcorn as usual, but she gushed about the movie for days. Even to her dad and his wife, lol!

The following day I took Loren out for some yogurt. This was her request. So we made a trip to YoLo in Collierville. We had a great time, and while good, we agreed Sweet CeCe's was much better...oh no worries we are still on a best yogurt in town quest, lots more to try.

Aww, poor Loren, her skittles she put in her yogurt froze and were too hard to chew. :(

Little Miss Diva, she is like her momma and wanted to sit right beside the window. We had fun sitting there watching all the people in the town square.

We plan on having a lot more mommy/daughter girls nights out, but for now, these two are inseparable! I love how close they are! :)

And I definitely cherish my time with them, each and every second!

Sweet Summertime~Goofy and Loving it!

One thing we ladies know how to do...is have fun! :)

We spent the majority of my days off at the sprinkler park in Collierville, that is until this insane heatwave set in...
On days we just couldn't take the heat, we moved indoors, to the Wolfchase Mall, where we usually hit up the merry-go-round, spider jump, playground, and Starbucks and Godiva, OF COURSE! :)

We had lots of lunch dates, mostly with Homma and Nanie, and lots of good times were had!

The girls swallowed a frog at one outing...

These girls LOVE dill pickles! So silly!

And on Father's day, the girls made their dad some gifts, and look how cute they looked for their dinner with their dad! Too sweet!

And THIS is how I found my little heathens, passed out in Miranda's bed at the end of the night! LOL, Miranda must sleep with her eye mask, but still has to have the lamp on!

And the following pic, is when the girls got Smurfed at Kid Station. If you have not checked that place out, you should, great ladies who run this really fun drop-in play center. The girls love going there!

This is the day Miranda did their hair to get them ready for their bath, haha!

And this was when the girls were having fun playing at our cousin Becca's house. So silly, Loren is pouting because she wants the other glasses back. Just watch...

...see, all better now! All is right in the world, lol!
This was just a taste of our goofiness, we are always up to no good, promise! ;) Hope you all had a wonderful and goofy summer too!

Miranda's 7th Birthday

Pretty in Pink...yes, the birthday girl is obsessed with pink. AND even requested strawberry cupcakes with strawberry icing.

Nanie was sure to get the birthday princess a sash and crown! So sweet, we love you Aunt Nanie!

xoxo

Very yummy, if I do say so myself, ;)

Of course, haha, Loren always has to eat things the messiest way possible!

Let me just tell you, Miranda BEGGED for this type of alarm clock. BEGGED!

What happened first time it went off and woke these lovely sleeping beauties?

They ran screaming at the top of their lungs, in a zombified state, through the house and terrified me to death! I had no idea WHAT was going on, but they no longer use this alarm clock she BEGGED for, because they are terrified by it when it goes off, haha!

Go figure!

And of course, you can't be a princess without a Disney princess gown! My mother, she is always spoiling these girls rotten...but she is oh so pretty! :)

Miranda also wanted a new Bible for her birthday. So I got her one she could understand, only now she tries to carry this big ole book to church with her, lol, it's very heavy!

But she is so glad it is one she can actually understand, but isn't made for really little kids, because, she's SEVEN now! A big girl after all, you know!

What else did this big girl request for her birthday? To have her ears pierced, so reluctantly, we did! And she was all excited about it until it was time. Poor thing, I think she's still traumatized!

She said she NEVER wants to get her ears pierced again! And Loren agrees, she doesn't either! lol...As for the piercings, she was finally able to change them after July 4th, she said they hurt so she took them out for ONE night, and they closed! Completely! I told her that if she wants them pierced again she will have to wait until she is grown and can afford to pay for them herself, lol! But she was VERY brave for going through with it in the first place!

I honestly can't believe my baby girl is seven...seems crazy to me!
